Title: Yay! Fixed 4WD
Post by: explosivo on June 15, 2004, 04:44:36 PM
And I didn't have to spend several hundred dollars on steel housings! I just put a strap:

over the snout of the third member, and bolted it to the crossmember, which effectively fixed my broken pinion mount. It's only temporary, but it'll do until I get the proper funds to put a GV housing in.

After I put the strap on, I took a little test drive through the trails behind my house, and not thinking about the snorkel, ignored some overhanging trees. This was the result:

I'm still happy, since I fixed a nagging problem and the damage of my brief trip was minimal. I'll be sure to be a bit more observant when out on tight trails ;D
