My left front wheel was dragging after I repacked the wheel bearings and replaced the axle seal on my 87 sammi tin top. I took the calipers apart and tried to free the piston. Its absolutely stuck. The manual says to use air pressure but after about 40 lbs didn't budge it I tried to bang it out from the back through the fluid hole with a drift pin. Its not budging and I'm hesitant to hit it too hard and bust the piston.
Any ideas or is it too far gone and need to be replaced. Can you buy just the caliper body or do you have to replace the whole brake assembly? I doubt its cheep.
Thanks Gary

Just get a new caliper, do both sides, they aren't that much

Also, do a search for caliper at Ack's FAQ to find a link to an article at izook.com on how to rebuild it...

I can get them at NAPA for 43 bucks each
