Title: Near death NEED help engine missing horribly
Post by: ColtonP on October 31, 2010, 05:37:38 PM
Ok I was pulling a hill climb following my buddies wrangler about 3/4 of the way up I run out of steam in 4 low and first gear. It will only run about 4000 rpm before it starts missing real bad. We adjusted the timing I was only getting to 3000 b4 that I think its an intermittent miss but don't know y ? Any suggestions ???

Forgot to mention I almost rolled it on the way down. If my back right tire went six inches higher on the edge of the trail it would have gone please help me diagnose this major issue

Colton,
What vehicle and motor are you having the issue with?

I don't know about anyone else here but my Zuk has never liked big hill climbs never had it miss though, do you have the stock carb or a Weber carb or some other carb (like a side-draft) we need more info,  a lot of Weber carbs have to be adjusted for hills

Check all your vacuum lines first.  The stock Sammurai carb needs everything plugged in correctly to run right.  Also check your fuel filter, it might need replacing.

And it might need to simply be rebuilt.
