Hey guys well I am thinking about having my buddy build me a bumper and am curious where should I have him make the mounts to bolt on to the back of the samurai. I also have the wrangler YJ complete spring suspension Kit on mine from TT. Any pictures or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

A lot of bumper manufacturers use the bolt holes that are used to bolt the factory tow hoops for the bottom of the bumper mount and then use the two bolts that are in the rear tail gate jam for the upper bolts. It seems to work OK but I'm not a fan of tying the chassis directly to the body without any rubber/poly. Vibration and a ripped body and/or frame mounts seems to happen over time especially if you are doing a lot of flexing as part of your wheeling regiment.
Good luck, Eric

I've added an extension to the frame in the back to give me a better mounting point.

Appreciate the help guys... I'm gonna talk to my buddy either today or tomorrow to get started

Hey it you did not start this yet, what my buddies and I have been doing is capping the round tube crossmember in the rear of the frame with a hole in the middle and and nut welded on the back of it. So we run the stock mounts and this new mount. I run a pretty high rack in the hitch of my bumper with a full ARB fridge leveraging on it with no problems.
