Title: fuel pump question
Post by: 10mm shooter on November 04, 2010, 06:58:58 PM
I have an 1987 Samurai with a stock mechanical  fuel pump - there are three hoses connected to it - one from the fuel tank, one to the carb, and the third goes to what or where?

I am new to the Suzuki world - so please keep that in mind when I ask a stupid question... Thanks in advance for you help...

Three hoses or three pipes?

The threee pipes are inlet (from tank), outlet (to carb), and vent (to atmosphere).

i thought that 3rd one was back to the tank as an over flow/ pressure relief.

That's it.  The third one is a return line that runs back to the tank.

I've never seen a gas tank vent aside from at the filler neck.
