Title: The Land between the Lakes - trails?
Post by: ArkansasTracker on June 13, 2004, 07:39:21 AM
I know some of you Zukes are from TN and I need your help.  I may have a chance to take a trip to the Land tween the Lakes in a couple weeks.  Are there any offroad trails in that area of TN/KY?  I'd rather drive the Track over instead of the MPV.

Theres Turkey Bay OHV area within Land Between the Lakes.  Its on the KY side near Cadiz KY.  Around 2500 acres.

You would need to go to the other end of TN for the parks I ride. The closest on the Turkey Bay is just before you get to Knoxville, but well worth the trip. PM me if you want some details.

Oh Yea, I have not been there, but I have heard that Wheelin in the Country, in Columbia TN is a good pay park. (even closer than Windrock)

Try www.kylake.com  then click on the land between the lakes icon and scroll down menu on left for OHV info.  I think its $15 for a 3 day pass.
Turkey Bay is mostly wooded hills.  If it doesn't have trees on it, its rocky with rain washed ruts.  There's the Gator Pit if ya like the mud.  Don't just drive into any mudhole though, cause some are deeper than you think.  Lots of bikes and ATVs there usually.  Some sand but mostly gravel along the lake.
If you go, PM me and maybe a few of us KY zuks can meet you over there.  Also, if you're there when they're having the boat races at Pisgah Bay, they're awesome to watch.
