Title: Another Transfer case problem
Post by: moosetacular on November 25, 2010, 11:58:04 AM
Hey guys, my 87 samurai is stuck in 2wd High. so i read that it is usually the bushing in the transfer case. So i got the part and followed this guide http://zukioffroad.com/Tech_Library/tcase_shifter_bushing.htm (http://zukioffroad.com/Tech_Library/tcase_shifter_bushing.htm).

I got the original part out and it seem a lot smaller than the replacement piece? is that common? my replacement part looks like the yellow one at the top of that guide.

I'm having a problem with the reassembly. I am having a very hard time placing the shift lever guide back in place. Does anyone have any tips to putting it back in? i'm having a hard time holding it all the way down while turning it. anyone else had issues like this?

I don't know if it matters but i'm trying to do it with out removing the transfer case.

Thanks,
Moose

That repair should be easy. The yellow part actually looks like the tranny shifter repair kit not the tcase. The other bushing is the shifter sheet.  I would call them and ask them. i could he wrong, but i don't think so becuase i have not bought their kit.  Let us know the out come.

The yellow one in the picture is for the transmission not the transfer-case
