Title: 16v swap problem wont start, batt light is on. swap ran, changed tubs,no go
Post by: hondalowlow on December 02, 2010, 09:07:15 PM
my 16v swap in my sammy wont start  i swapped tubs because the tin top tub was rotted so bad. i pulled the wire harness out of dash and body before the swap and re installed the same way. now my batt light is on  on my cluster when the + terminal is hooked up.  and it wotn crank with the key. i jumped the startr and it cranked the motor over. i checked my grounds there good. i have power to the harness from the batt i believe. what is causing the batt light to be on when the keys off???  the sammy 16v ran i drove it 4 hours home from NY when i bought and wheeled it before i swapped tubs.  can someone pleae give me some info.

or post up a samurai to 16v wiring diagram so i can check why its not working.

thanks

Is it a ODBC I or ODBC II 16 valve?  If it won't turn over when you hit they key then you are either missing some grounds or you didn't put the wiring back together properly.  I would start by double checking your wiring and making sure everything is connected.

As for the battery light being on when the key is off, that would be caused by 12v being connected in the wrong place.
