Title: CV Boots
Post by: explosivo on June 12, 2004, 05:33:25 AM
How hard are these buggers to change? Will I be needing any special tools to do it? Is it beneficial to replace both boots while I'm at it rather than just the ripped on?

You can buy a replacement CV boot kit from your local Auto store.

It comes with a new boot, two clamps, and some greese.

Your gonna have to take the CV out, remove the old boot and clamps, wash it up with varsol,  then install the new one.

I don't think any special tools are needed.  Someone told me that you need a special tool to do the clamps, but I find that hard to believe.

You can find complete instructions at http://www.rorty.vze.com  but I not responble if you decide you want to build a new rig from the ground up. :)
You'll need to look under technical, I can't post a direct link.

for the clamps their is a special tool but i don't think you reallt need it.  you could probley get away with useing some pliers and a hammer.
