Title: horsepower/torque differences

I know theres a best engine swap thread, but my question is a little more specific
Spent some time trying to find a vw diesel to put into my sammy, and it just isnt looking promising on my ability to pick one up. so i was wondering how much of a difference there is in torque/hp from a stock 1.3 to a 1.6 track/kick motor with a good carb and header installed.

Stock numbers on a 1.3l is 65/69 vs 85/89 for the stock 1.6 8 vavle.  So your probably looking at a 30-40% improvement over the stock numbers.

You could also go with the 16v mpfi and get those numbers around 100 pretty easy.
