Title: How are MT's at high speed.

I have been reading comments on M/T tires at tirerack.com.  I have seen some reviews stating that the M/T tires handle poorly at high speed.  If I get M/T's I will probably either get Dunlops or Kumho's or Hi-Tech retreads due to their cost.  I drive 75 mph on the expressway when I take the tracker to work.  Will this be dangerous with these tires?

My friend bought a pair of Dunlop Mud Rovers, and hasn't complained about them yet :)

Also, depending on the size of tires you get, 75mph with stock gearing might be a distant memory :(

Ditto My MTs are no prob at top speed dont worry about it

I'm running the Dunlop Mud Rovers 30X9.5 with stock gearing.  I took a 4 hour trip on the interstate and they rode just fine at 70, 75, and 80.  They get kinda lound at times, but that's what the radio is for.  I've been very pleased with them.  I just wish I'd bought the 31s instead.

I dont think 75 MPH is considered high speed ;D

!!! - put a lifted tracker in a cross wind and it makes for interesting driving anyway...  ;)

My BFG MT's are great, and my driving style at motorway speeds hasn't changed; keeping sensible separation anyway and braking carefully in the wet.

True, the accelleration with 235's ain't what it was anyway, and using 5th is a "special treat"

I wish I'd gone for 31's from the outset, and am waiting for a set, having said goodbye to high speed cruising already.

pfft i can do well over 90 on stock size tires....could going to like 30-31" tire make it THAT much slower???

The only down point I have noticed is in heavy rain. The wider tires pull more when you hit standing water. If you slow down in the rain, you should have no troubles running MT's

Yep, it will change your miles per hour and your miles per gallon, alot :)
