I have access to get some OEM Springs off a 97 - 06 Wrangler for $15 and I was wondering if those would be just as good as the yj swap? and can I use the yj kit to add these to my 87 sami?
-
Won't work, 97-06 is a TJ, so they are coil springs instead of the leaf springs you find on a YJ.
-
dang. thank you for setting me straight drone.
-
how about leaf springs from a 85 cj7? I know that these are leaf and they are 4" lift springs for the cj7
-
The YJ has a wider width, more supple spring rate, not near the arch that they CJ springs have, esp. the added 4" one the ones that you are looking at.
-
thank you for the info. so it would be better for me to hold off for the yjs when I can afford them then?

One option is to use the front springs from a CJ on the rear and move the rear springs up front. Same width, just a bit longer and a softer ride over-all.
