Post by: adamsobi on December 08, 2010, 08:29:17 AM
i have a 97 4 door. are there any other vehicles spring that i can get from the junkyard that will lineup and give me a little more lift? im gonna be doing a widening mod if that changes anything.

GRAND VITARA/XL7 COILS. they give 3" front 1" rear. but dont ride much stiffer (front needs a winch bumper to be good)

sopposely honda accord rear springs fit the rear and give some lift too but are a bit soft.

ford ranger springs fit but dont work perfectly (they are a bit loose) so its an option for a trail only truck

Might be a dumb question, but why do the Vitara coils give 3" in the front but only 1" in the back?

just different geometry the rear coils are about the same size as the stock 2dr springs (height) i installed the grand vitara coils in the rear to help it with carrying weight and towing. the truck runs well with the grand vitara coils ride nice (bit stiff without a winch bumper) but they gave me enough clearance for 31's. rear needs a bit more height to keep from rubbing the inner wells, but they stuff up nicely and dont do any damage other then some rubbed off paint on the inner fender well.
