Hello, new to the zuki world, first 1.3 build that i have done, i have a question about whether or not these engines require a shim plate between the engine and trans, seen them for sell, but the one i am rebuilding did not have one when i removed the engine, i know on other engines the shim plate is used for starter problems and other issues, just wanted to know if i need one before installing the engine, seemed fine when i pulled it into my shop before the rebuild ???

Yes, there is always a shim plate between the engine and trans, at least on
every engine I have pulled, I forgot the shim on my last install, it was OK, but
the starter sounded different, so I bet you want to get one

Thanks Wild, thought i had better check, usually if one needs it, they all will need it, just talked to the owner and sure enough he was having starter problems, this is a re-rebuild, you would not believe some of the stuff that was done on the first rebuild, what a mess, again thanks for the info, got one on the way!!!!!!!!!

I have one on the way? or I have one by the way?
No I don't have any for a 1.3L it's a different pattern
than the 1.6L engine, but I'm sure Hawk's Suzuki Parts
will be able to help you
