Ok I put it in over the last two nights. It took me about five hours total (it would have been less if half the bolts werent frozen). I took the tracker out for tests last night and today. My virdect....... In one word "AWESOME". If you dont have one get one, if you cant afford one skip your morning coffee and save your quarters,if you think you dont want one think again. Its always been my thought that the Trackers main handicap was with the front end so limited and the back so light that just when you need traction the most a back tire lifts off the ground and spins. Not any more.....
Anyway as far as the install I was planning to take pictures untill I saw the directions. They have great pics and read plain as day so I say buy one, read the directons and put it in. One note though, If you dont have a propor axil puller (like me) put somthing heavy (I used a 25lb barbell weight) on the end of a short chain. Bolt the other end to the hub and give it a couple tugs. Both of mine jumped right out no small feet considering how hard everything else was to get off. Oh yea and disconect your break lines and the one big break spring that is in the way of the axil retainer (trust me on this one) unless you want to rebend or replace break lines.

That's Great!! I knew you would love it 8) I was amazed when I installed mine, and just as amazed when I did the front ;) So, how long untill the carrier and front locker is on the way?

I am thinking of going with the limited slip on the front. I do to much winter driving for a locker pluss Im hoping it will be a little easier on the front end parts. When??? Well that all depends on when the boss lets me spend the money she still doesnt know about the locker a friend gave me the money for that and Ive run out of things to sell.

If you plan to use 4wd on the street ARB is the only way to go for the front. I run a powertrax locker in the front so I know. I also ran a limited a few years back. The limited in the front is not a good idea for snow on the street, neither is a locker for that matter. For the street It drives horrible and scary. However with a locker in the rear I find that I dont even need to lock in the front hubs. A rear locker really kicks ass in the snow. Fun too! You just gotta learn how to drive it. However, If its really bad out I will lock in the hubs and use 4wd just untill I get moving and then throw it in 2wd. If you leave it in 4wd it will not want to turn. it will just plow straight.

Winter is the only thing that is keeping me from getting a locker... :-/

You don't need a wheel puller to remove the rear axles.
Just put your wheel back on with the lugs nuts loose and give the wheel a good tug. The mass of the wheel will pop the axles right out.

Is tapping the axleshafts out with a hammer bad or something?

how do you mean?

Nah I dont think hammering them is that bad.
Another trick you can do is put your drum on backwards then hammer the rim of the drum.
Mine were a bitch to get out. I first tried to use the chain and sledge hammer trick, but the axels wouldnt budge.
So I borrowed a slide hammer and gave them 10 good cracks before they popped out.

Or you could do what we did and take a broken axle, and make a slide hammer out of it.
(direct bolt on)

a slide hammer is THE tool to remove halfshafts.the drums reversed thing will work but the hammer is the best,it can be made if you have access to a few bits and a bit of engineering.
