Title: 86 Sami rebuild
Post by: harrisons94 on December 18, 2010, 08:06:08 AM
hey guys

i am in need of a senior project and my friend has an 86 samurai. it was a pretty badass mud rig until heavy rain came and the poor thing was under water for a good 2 weeks. he says the frame has been truck liner'd so there is no rust but most everything else will need a rebuild. i was just wondering if anyone had some tips, sources for parts, estimated costs, anything like that. the motor itself will be the only thing im rebuilding for the project so im not terribly concerned with anyhting else as of yet.

thanks

sounds like a great senior project too me! do it man! I think I would rebuild or replace (maybe up grade) the motor, change all the fluids a couple times and go for it.

just build it safe and have some pride in it. it should last longer than most senior projects. COOL IDEA MAN! ;)

Can anyone point me into the direction of a rebuild kit?(bearings, rings, seals, etc)
