Title: Engine and Tranny Swap
Post by: Wildtire on December 18, 2010, 08:07:46 PM
Are there any Transmissions that have the same spline on the tailshaft? Thinking about what to do for an engine swap and maybe tranny and T case if needed. Not even remotely interested in a 1.6 or a TDI.

The only thing that I know is that the kick and sammy transmissions have 23 spline out outs.  I don't know if anything else has the same spline.

hopw that helps.

The kick 2wd transmission have the same output shaft.  But you can just make a custom jack shaft with just about any 2wd transmission and run it to the engine.  Any drive-line shop should be able to put it together.

New Colorado Emissions aren't being nice to any engine swappers, so it's gonna be an 8 valve 1.6 with a GM throttle body and ecm, with a stock airbox. They won't even know what just rolled past em!

you can do the swap with the chevy V6 vortech engine from rocky road outfitters.
you can look  it up at http://www.rocky-road.com/vortec.html (http://www.rocky-road.com/vortec.html) its pretty expensive but if you have the money and the time to do it and the tools it will pretty beast.   8)
