Hi again,
I just got a 1990 Sidekick and the fuse panel cover is missing. I guess that is where the map telling which fuse is which is located. I haven't found a layout in the owner's manual or the FSM. I have a dim headlight and though I'd start with the fuses. That led to the discovery of the missing cover.
Can anyone take a picture of the cover or draw a layout of their fuse panel for me? This is for the main panel under the steering wheel.

There are 2 headlight fuses. One for the left light, one for the right one. If one of the two fuses are blown, then one headlight will be dim (yeah, odd, I know....you would think the headlight would be completely dark). Anyway, the fuses should be red 10 amp fuses and will be adjacent to each other. You can check the fuses with a test light, to see if they are blown (headlight fuses have power going through them all the time...as long as the battery is hooked up).
If the fuses check out fine, then it could be that the wiring terminal that the fuse slides into is spread a little too much and isn't "pinching" the fuse tight enough to make a good connection. You can unhook the battery and use a small flat screwdriver and push one side of the wiring terminal towards the other one to get it to "pinch" tighter.
If neither of those work, then you probably have an issue with the wiring somewhere.
I don't have a diagram/pic of the fuse block layout in front of me. But I can probably get you one in the next day or two, if you still want one.

I would appreciate if you could send the layout. I will print it and laminate it and keep it in the truck for future use.
It is amazing that the FSM and the Owners Manual don't have the fuse layout. I didn't expect the Haynes book to have it but the other two certainly should.

Thank you for the diagram!! It turned out the the fuse was not blow, it was missing alltogether. I put in a new 10 amp and the passenger side headlight is working fine now.
What page was the diagram on? I spent quite a while looking at the FSM pages on ACK's FAQ and never could find it.

It was in an 89 Tracker FSM that I have. I don't think that FSM is on Ack's site. But for reference, it was on page 8B-3 in the lighting and horn section.
