Title: Hard to find 3rd gear
Post by: trackhead on December 24, 2010, 08:20:13 AM
1988 Samurai-

Finding third gear is almost always difficult to find whether the engine is running or not.  Is this a symptom of the shifter locating bolt going bad?

Pretty annoying to loose all your speed and momentum with a 1.3 Sammy when you're struggling to get the piglet into third gear.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your shifter bolt may have broke or come lose. Do you have a lot of movement in the shifter while it is is another gear? If so check your shifter bolt, also would be a good time to up grade your shifter sheet to either polyurethane or a brass one.

Thanks, I can only count to two, so maybe I should just convert it to an auto tranny.

Good sense of humor, how refreshing.  ;)
