Nice find! If you look realllllllly hard at the door, you can barely make out the "S" and the "K" on the door plate, so I am going to go with Sidekick, and a early one going by the grill...

ha ha! Very cool! Thanks for posting!

Ahh, you don't have to look that close. The amber turn signals tells you it's a sidekick.
It is pre 96, because of the non-"puffy" grille.
Actually, it looks like it has the zip out side windows on the soft top, so that would make it a 95.....since 95 was the only year that you could get the zip out side windows top (second gen. top) and the non-"puffy" grille.
Of course this is all assuming that it is all factory and not a "custom" build.

I noticed the grill also, and it looks ALOT like my 90 model, and my turn signals are clear... did you notice that it looks like it is a 2wd, since the "cap" in the center of the wheel looks solid and chromey?

Sidekicks had amber turn signals from the factory. Trackers had clear turn signals from the factory.
Yeah, I noticed the center of the front wheels too. Couldn't tell if it was aftermarket hubs on it, just center caps (or center caps covering auto hubs), or what.
Like I said, if it is all factory parts (top, grille, turn signals, hood), then it is a 95 sidekick. But it is obvious it has some aftermarket stuff on it (wheels at least, and probably paint and stripes), so who knows. ???

I saw that commercial this weekend.... "and a new car".... nice....

Sky, I am didn't mean to contradict you on the turnsignal thing. I misread what you had typed about the amber lights. Sorry.

No problem. I just thought maybe you were saying that you have a sidekick with clear signal lights (meaning either you or someone else had swapped them out.....I've done that myself, BTW). ;)

I couldnt tell you what it said on the door to save my life, but it does have the ''S'' on the grill and not ''GEO". I like those wheels too.
-
acually its not the suzuki symbol on the grille. its a different symbol (more like the pepsi logo...)

dang trademark/copyright laws! I guess its a mystery and no one will ever figure out what it is(where's Perry when you need him?) thanks for the vid. BTW
-
Heh, pretty cool. Yep the logos have been altered & I'm gonna say the decal on the door/quarter is brushed in too, it doesn't look like it belongs. Black bumpers & mirrors, flat grille, it's early & not an Lsi.
I like the "Beep beep" of the horn when it lands. For those that remember the the old Geo Tracker commercials... Tracker pulls up with smiling occupants... "Beep beep... HI!!" *gg I don't miss that commercial*
-
Its 2wd, i think means it could only be a Suzuki. I dont think Chevy sold a 2wd tracker.

These old commercials are fun. :)

Yeah, they did. Chevy dealers used it as a come-on, advertising a really low price in the newspapers, then tried to switch you to the more expensive 4wd. When people complained about "bait and switch", they got away with it because they really did have a Tracker you could buy for that price.

Most of the 2wd trackicks I own are Trackers.
-
I have a 95 tracker that was a factory 5speed 2wd.

I searched, but couldn't find the "Beep Beep... Hiiiiiii!!" Geo commercial. Anyone know how/where to find these? (Other than You Tube, it's not there near as I can tell.)
-
No idea, that was the closest one I could find.

this is my favorite sidekick commercial,i may only be 21 but it is true, whenever i drive it i feel like im 18 again. (back when i first bought the truck)

it easy to see that on the doors it s written sidekick(word tracker is shorter and sunrunner is longer)
and on the grill it s only the (S) OF SUZUKI but with a line that pass true it and both with shade effect.
but easy to see.
it a 1995 grill cause i got the same but mine is green plus the top is the early style too.
mags are after market(they got no choice if they want to clear the suzuki/tracker things for the laws but it s a photochop things.
sorry for my english but i m french first ha ha ha.
-
and do you see the lug nuts into the wheels?
not me ::)
by the way it s a suzuki because traker have flat hood.
suzuki got shape to it.

My 90 Tracker had a flat hood but my 93 had the shaped one above.

didnt know they had different hoods. ???

16v hood vs 8 valve hood. So the signs point to it being a 95. :)

From my experience, Hot Wheels is right that the hood is different for Suzuki & Tracker, not related to motor. My Tracker 16valve has the flat hood. My 16 valve & 8valve Sidekicks have the ridged hood.
Also, the Suzuki's have colored turn signal lenses on the front, like the one in the commercial. Trackers have clear lenses. Tail light lense colors are different too.

No. The hood differences were tracker vs. sidekick, not 16v vs. 8v.
Later on, both sidekicks and trackers used the same style hood...can't remember when they went to that....96 maybe?
But you are correct about it being a 95, since it has the new style top (95 was the first year for it) and it has the pre 96 style grille....as I mentioned earlier in the thread.

Strange, as I have had 3 8 valve Trackers, all with the flat hood. And 2 16 vavle trackers, both with the raised.

Every 89-98 sidekick has the raised hood.
I'll have to check, but I don't think I have, or have had, any tracker with a raised hood. And a few were 16Vs.
I think all 4 door trackers had the raised hood.
