Can anybody help me find 5.83 R&P for the rear of my Kick and no Calmini can't >:(
-
http://home.golden.net/~haida/suzuki/kickshop/drivetrain.htm
looks like they have a 5.83 set.
-
I think they buy a lot of there products from Calmini. If you look at the rest of the site at least
-
the only ones that make them is Richmond for Calmini. If anyone else has them its because they bought them from Calmini to stock themselves.
-
yeah i was looking through, could be that its just a reseler of calmini prods.
-
Here's an idea! Call Hawk's Strictly Suzuki, and see if THEY have any in stock!
888-SAMURAI is their number, if I remember correctly! Yup!

If I remember correct they get their R&P sets straight from Richmond like Calmini so it could be that they still have 'm in stock good luck on your search ;)

i emailed Richmond and here is what they said.
The Suzuki gears are a non stocked item for us.We make the gears at the request of any of our distributors for a minimum quantity.
Currently we do not have plans to make the gears.
Thank You

Not cool is an understatement >:( Calmini have been spinning a line to customers for months that they will have stock "in a couple of weeks" meanwhile they never had and still haven't placed an order with Richmond for manufacture. Calmini are now saying at the earliest it will be late Summer. What the #%*|removethispart|@ is going on with them. It makes you wonder if they just can't afford to place the order but don't keep spinning lines to the customer that they will be in stock soon when thay haven't even ordered any. And as they still haven't placed an order you got to wonder how much faith you can put in them to have them late Summer. Any of you running 5.83 in the rear better hope you don't bust 'em.
-
this is why i will never do business with calmini again . it has never ben pleasent for me to bo business with them and i do not have a good thing to say about them.
sorry if this offends anyone . but ill build my one stuff or go without befor i bo business with them again ever.

I personally have never had a moments bad service from Calmini or their products. Dont blame all of the gear shortage on Calmini, Richmond sets their prices, and MINIMUM orders that would determine if Calmini could order the gears, deliver them to the customer and not loose money in the process.
Dont get me wrong, yea it sucks if you are promised a product and do not get it when promised. All I do is not order shit unless it is in stock. If it is not in stock, have the vendor you are dealing with give you a call when they do have it in stock.
I'm just glad to see Calmini taking the steps to get rid of having to deal with Richmonds Minimum orders and probably increasing prices :-/
I hate to see any Kick products yanked off of the shelf for any period of time, but I believe that this will improve the availibility in the future.

Do you really think Richmond care if Calmini place an order or not. They have a policy in place and Calmini know it. Who's to say it's the policy anyway, maybe Calmini just don't have the money to do business at the momoent, I don't know and they're not telling. All they do is make promises they know full well they can't keep and have done so for months now.

Anyway moaning about it won't get me set so please anybody that knows of a set for the rear pm me with details.
Thanks, CJ

Can anybody help me find 5.83 R&P for the rear of my Kick and no Calmini can't  >:(
IF I can ever get my seller to contact me,we will be re-gearing my husband's Samurai, and will be selling the 5.38s out of the rear of the Sami. He trashed the front pinion and we have decided to just re-gear.The rears,as far as we know, are in good shape and aren't that old.
Don't know, though,if the ones out of a Samurai (88.5) will work in a Kick/Tracker. Might wanna check.

It is a shame that Calmini can not supply 5.83 R&P's at present because that is the next modification for ZeusZuki. To all of you who are bitching about the service from Calmini, I have this to say: If you can do better then lets see it, if not then just close your trap and give them a break. Calmini are an inovative company and without them we would all be running Toyota ( wash my mouth out please ) swaps or similar or worse yet, nothing at all. They have motivated us "to the bone Zuk owners" into the fantastic machines we all enjoy today - SO BACK OFF!!! or we might lose the best thing that happened to Zuk's period. True they did not build it all but they certainly have inspired many!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with Zig on this too.

Zeus, you sound like a Mainlander :P
-
Mainlander? Not sure what you are suggesting there. I come from the South Island of New Zealand - over here we are called "Mainlanders".
So is "mainlander" good or bad?
-
Well that depends but I reckon anything south of the Bombay Hills doesn't count ;) well I would considering Aucklands the place to be ;D
-
cj: Well mate, you have obviously never been to the South Island or Christchurch and if you have you must have mixed with the wrong people. A few years back I did the Australian Road Racing Champs with a friend of mine and to be honest I did not think Australia to bad a place considering what I had been told. This friend used to live in Melbourne for a few years and he thought the place was Ok. He lives here again though - thought the life style over there was a bit too busy. You should pop in if you are ever over here and do some wheeling with us on the West Coast - Native Bush ( Rain Forest ) and some great trails, mostly old DOC access stuff, but not used for a long time, overgrown and very scenic. Have you ever been to a "Tough Truck Challenge"? They look like a real good time. My Mum lives in Sydney / Wollongong so I hope to check one out some time.
-
I see Cal Mini as a company that goes over the top in everything they do. Thier products most always seem first rate. A few year back I ran their Samurai Shackle reversal and was impressed with the fit and design.
I believe they are making promises on parts and calculating business need, and all the while streamlinig their operation, aiming for just in time delivery / selling all the oreders upon arrival. I'd like to think they are headded the right direction, But I'd also like them to be a little more honest about availibility.
BTW are Kick dropped pitman arms in yet? I need to give Cal Mini another call.
-
Zeus, I actually quite like the South Island just being a little tongue in cheek, got relatives in Christchurch and been down for some skiing too. I'm in Melbourne now but have spent time in Sydney too. Still go up to play from time to time with friends and family. Love to do some wheeling on the West Coast if the opportunity ever arose as it looks like some great country. No, haven't been to any of the comps here but will be going to a round of WEROC being held in Melbourne as a couple of the guys in the club are building buggies to run.

Hey CJ
Do you have any pics of your damaged gears? The machinist who did the work on my drive system is excellent (also did some gears for my sprint car years ago). I can have him take a look at the pics and maybe see if he can repair yours or make a set.

Zaggy thanks for the offer but the problem is I bought a front set and put them in while doing other mods to the front end and have been waiting on the matching set for the rear 'cause I was told they were only a couple of weeks away. This was back in Feb. So my optons are buy another 5.12 for the front and put that back in so I can go wheeling and wait for Calmini to place another order for some gears (they've said late summer at the earliest), try and find a set somewhere new or used(prefer new) or throw everything away and SAS it and fix my gearing in the process (not my preferred option at this moment).
-
CJ are you in the Uk, you can pick up a temp axle for now cant you pretty cheap of ebay my last one was £25. at least you can wheel then
-
Sorry to hear about the fix your in cj
Wish I could do more to help.

i think i have an idea cj.
cz is selling his sidekick, and his rig if i'm correct only has 5.83 gears in the back, and not the front. so get ahold of him to find out if i'm correct, and see if you can work a deal.
