Title: 2001 GV's air is already dead!?
Post by: jookycola on June 09, 2004, 02:28:20 PM
so my sister bought a 2001 GV Limited and loves it.  it's ran flawlessly for the 3 months she's had it.  she bought it used from a husband and wife that are LONG time repeat Zuki buyers.  this truck was in perfect condition.  it had a few months left on the original warranty.  She took it to her Suzuki dealer and told them to make sure everything on it is mechanicaly sound, before the warranty runs out.  They checked it out at 100% perfect.
last week the A/C went out, she took it in and they said the compressor is shot and for $800 they'll replace it.
she siad how long will it take?
they told her a week or two, they don't stock Suzuki compressors...because they rarely break.

i say something is fishy, the car was perfect and had NO problems till she took it there.  and for something that "rarely breaks" and is only 2 1/2 years old sounds kind of like shes getting shafted.  Any other GV owners have any problems with their A/C?

also does anyone know where i can call and talk to someone at Suzuki, the truck is only 2 weeks off warranty and i feel Suzuki should at least "help" pay for some of the repair.

$800 :o Call Hawk Strictly Suzuki before you get shafted for $800 for a compressor. 1-888-SAMURAI.

That deal sounds fishy to me. Sounds like dealer sabotage (sp?) :-/ I have always stayed away from dealerships when it comes to geting repairs on my ride. Everyone I know that uses them, always seem to have alot of little things go wrong with their ride that costs them lots of $'s. My boss uses them all the time on his family rides and he has more repairs done than any one I know. He sells rides at 80K, but they spend more time in the shop than all of mk 100K-200K having Zuk's combined :-/

Man, I'd say something really STINKS !!!  I never go in for any of those "x,xxx mile services".  It's just an opportunity for someone to take advantage of those less knowledgable and create future work for themselves.  Happens to my in-laws all the time.

All dealers are not bad, but it's a risk until you find one that's reputable.  I use an excellent GMC dealer for our Suburban.  Always fix the problems and NEVER created any new ones.
