Definitely planning on being there... :)
-
First timer last year, and it was a good time - I'd like in again.
-
I am down if I can get something up and running solid. is there only 10 rigs allowed in the event?

Yes, only 10 Suzuki rigs for this year... While the large groups have their advantages, there are certain things you just can't do when the train of vehicles gets quite long. We plan on doing an entirely different route this year and will need to be more agile as a group.
Hope to see you there.

what vehicle to drive home in 2011 ???

Time for a Samurai. :)
-Eric
-
Better weather and a Samurai traveling the path I wanted to take last time... That would be an awesome trip... we will see...
-
I would like a spot. With only 10 rigs this event is going to be full real quik
-
Zig. Clue me in, even though this is an encroachment on elk season. I want to play and have brothers that could make meeting tents / spots if I have the time to coordinate. I want in!!!!
PS. Bring a winch, that is winch, not wench, since I do not see my little green girl having one anytime soon.

Gregs got to get the sidekick going 10 months to fall classic.

It has been in yard not working for some time.

Please save a spot for two rigs.

Dennie - Tracker

OK!
-
Eric, if there is still space please put me down for one spot. Looks like your already over 10....

We (SirLance & I with the XL-7) are DEF. in this year after fixing the kicker 2 issues, THX :) 8)

Very cool!

I would go if I could:
1. ride with someone
and
B. find a way to Bend from the nearest airport...
-
Ack... I usually fly into Portland, get the el-cheapo economy rental car, and then drive down. If there is a spot open you can take, you wont be disapointed in the trip.... its one awesome scenic weekend... 8)
-
How much lift, lockers, winch required or recommended? Running mostly stock gear but need a good excuse to get going on my rig and would like to meet you all. If Drone is going down I might just follow him if space is available.
-
If there is room for your rig it will do fine. I usually just take my Tracker down. :)
-
Count me in then if there is room. It would be nice to get off the island for a change.
-
Derek,
Last year I flew out and purchased the 2000 Tracker 4 door (bone stock) from Sir Eric, and had a blast. I even did 95% of what everyone else was doing. I think I only skipped on the trip to the bottom of hole in the ground due to almost guaranteed rocker panel damage to a stocker. So I joined the geocaching group instead...
Zig
-
Got it on my calendar then if room. Look forward to some camping and fun in the fall.
-
I'm sure that I'm deep on the list, but if a miricle happens I'd love to go.
-
I'm probably a bit too late, but if there is room, I'd like to go. I'm still bummed to have missed it last year. Will this be a "base camp" type run (i.e., should I bring the camper and trailer the LJ), or should I just drive the LJ down there?
I see airbag signed up early - maybe I can steal his spot - I mean give him a ride - if he doesn't get his rig fixed in time! ;)
-
I did not know airbag is broken ?
-
I had to do the timing chain the Tracker sounded like a diesel one day, when I pulled it apart the chain guide from the top of the head was broken off and laying in the middle of the cam chain.
than the rear crank seal went out I need to get that replaced.
I'm getting about 120 miles the quart of oil.
and the dreaded front right drive line seal.
The silver lining is that I got a 4x4 accouter pump from a junk yard for $15 as a spare.

Sounds troublesome.
-
This sounds like to much fun to pass up. If I can still get in on it please include me. Also to the people from the northwest (Lopez and Vancouver BC) lets get a ZUKI train heading down the freeway.

Cool... Please send me an email with your information.

Hey everyone.... I have decided not to make the great pilgrimage from TN to Oregon and back for the Fall Classic this year... Hopefully I will see you all next year.
Zig
-
It's a shame you won't be making it, but I'll see you next year. I was hoping you would bring the new car up. :D
-
Eric, is this full or not. I am thinkin I might take the Equator... I should have a lift and bigger rubber by then. -KB-

Hi Keith - There is no limit on attendance and I'd love to see you come on out. If you decide yes, send me an email with your information. There are new instructions on the very first post of this thread.
Thanks, Eric

Thinking this is a tradition I need to uphold now...
I have the Samurai torn apart in the shop right now, but I plan on completing the work in about 3 more weeks. If not, I can always bring the Deuce
No, I won't have any droids for sale.
And no, the unimooki isn't done yet either. Besides, it isn't street legal...and that's a requirement for this trip!
Eric, I'll email you once I'm sure I have a rig to bring.

Hey! As fast as you are with builds, I'm very confident you can get your Samurai back together no problem... So we'll see you there, right?

Good thing because.....

Why did they think adding that extra CGI garbage was a good idea?
-
Oh, I know... It's done so poorly.
-Eric
-
Tick-Tock.... It's only three weeks away!
-Eric
-
Sounds like 20 days to post up things we are thinking about doing to prep... and one day to do it all. :) and then realizing it will never get done so just show up like we never knew it was coming :)
-
Hi I am the new guy Stitch and am really want to go but I thought I saw something about emailing someone the other day but can't find it now so I will just start out looking stupid then it can only get better from there. Can anyone help ???

Stitch
-

You going to be able to make it this year? If so Drone and I could convoy down with you from Mt.Vernon.
-
When are the WA people heading down - Thursday night or Friday morning? I'm leaning towards early (i.e. 5am) Fri. morning, heading east over Snoq. pass, then down 97, as it's a bit shorter for me, but if the weather is bad, I may head down part way Thurs. night.
-
I'm in Portland Or. 1 block off of I-5. If anyone wants to make it that far Thursday and head for the hills Friday morning you are welcome to crash at my pad and join me for the trip over Friday morning.
-
Derek and I are headed down Thursday. We may leave earlier in the day as we both have the day off.

Ron and Stasi will be a camp a day early if you wanted to push through to there. ???
-Eric
-
Bagwell and I are contemplating leaving Salem Thursday night after work and possibly camping somewhere along the way and still rondevouxing in La Pine on Friday... The group convoy from La Pine to camp is so fun that I'd like to still do that...
-
Got the email; I may end up driving down to Salem Thursday night, and meeting up with the convoy Friday morning; then drive home Sunday via 97 for something different.
-
I got the letter. Today I drove by the Occupy Portland encampment and it made be wonder with the plea for community tent and lights will we be protesting anything? what should I put on my sign? and will I be tied to my sign before it is thrown into the fire?

WE ARE THE ____%
of wheelers?
Maybe that will work for a bumper sticker as well as a sign. You guys fill in the blank. :D
-
Yeah, it's the squirells, rabbits, birds, bear, and the rest of the animals that are methodically and systematically stealing from the plant growth without compensation. We will be the voice of the trees. - but we will not feel bad using wood products for our signs and build a nice big camp fire to keep us warm :)
-
Better make it official, I'll be attending, just sent you an email Eric.
In Winter weather, a headache I regularly have is my door locks freezing up. Never ice in the lock, key goes in fine, just won't turn. Key fluid doesn't seem to help much. Heating the key with a lighter normally takes care of it. Any tips from the experts on this?
-
Minnesota logic here... WD40 in the key slot to get everything lubbed up and functioning, and then the thinest oil you can find. My favorite is power steering fluid. dip your key in it and then slip it in the key slot. Wipe up eveything when you are done. You will have the slickest door locks in the neighborhood
-
MX5Man, thanks for the tip, I'll get them lubbed up good and see what happens.
-
It appears that I will not be able to make it this year...too far behind with my work. The number of obligations I have and deadlines to meet would make the trip impossible to enjoy :'(
As it is, I'm typing this message from out in the shop at 10:30 PM, taking a short break before I dive back into work.
I was honestly planning on bringing the samurai over in the Deuce, and wheeling both of them!
Maybe next year...
have a great time without me guys!
-
Anyone look at the weather forcast? Depending on the site you go to they are forcasting as low as 12 degrees. Looks like coolers will be used to keep liquids from freezing. I hope my 12v electric blanket shows up in time. if it does I'll be bringing an extra battery to run it. Anyone else making and "adjustments" due to the forcast?

Awe man... Just take a break and dooeet! This fun only comes around once a year... Work is all year long, non-stop.

Would it count a wheeling a Zuki if you never took the Samurai out of the back? :D

Why carry a spare tire when I can carry an entire spare rig!

I wish I could! Unfortunately for me, my works ISN'T all year long or non-stop! I have to take it when it comes, or I can't afford to keep the projects rolling out of the shop. Have fun...looks like there might be some snow and some downright perfect "fall classic" temps on the way!

Did you sign up? What's your name please? (send me a PM if that is more comfortable) I'd like to cross you off the list so I don't have to call you on Friday. :)
Thanks, Eric
