Just thought I would ask those who know as 2 shops told me they could get close but it would still be out. I have camber bolts but I guess the longer strut does too much to the camber?
-
Replacing the strut in and of itself should not change the alignment any - now - if you change the spring and the strut, that will probably change the ride height, which will affect both the camber and toe.
It's not the length of the strut that causes the change in alignment, it's the difference in ride height - if you added a few hundred pounds of winch and bumper so the front end sits lower, the camber will be out (negative), but if you exactly compensate for this decrease in ride height, by adding a spacer or uprated spring, you would bring the camber back to the factory position, but - on the other hand - if your spacer or spring lifted the front end, the camber would then go positive.
By the way - my ARB catalogue says OME struts can be used with the standard springs

Sorry about this but I didn't include all the pieces so it would be near impossible to answer - but you did an excellent job and I understand now
OME longer than stock struts #962 I think
OME 962 springs
OME N103 struts
3/4 inch spacer
about 4.5 inches of lift with a pre-runner bumper so not a lot of weight

Yea.. that sounds right... Plus they say that about most modified vehicles for liability issues... some shops wont even touch am off road vehicle that's been lifted....

With that much lift - it might be difficult to get the camber back where it should be - but I'm just guessing.
-
Thats 3" more lift than the OME struts were designed for, I don't think that you will get that in spec just with the bolts.
-
Such is life I suppose
I guess I can rotate the tires more to try to have them wear more evenly
Thanks

They should be able to grind out the holes in order to get the alignment back to stock. That is what my local shop did instead of using the camber bolts.
-
I'm also using OME struts with all kinds of bastardized mods to get about 4" of suspension lift, and my shop was able to align mine just fine. I was able to get the camber to 0 degrees just using camber bolts, but like I said mine is a real mish mash of parts.

Gives me hope
I'll talk to my 4X4 shop to see what we can do
Otherwise I may have to do it
Thanks
