Title: Brake question
Post by: biker on May 29, 2005, 06:01:31 PM
I have decided I want to upgrade my brakes on my 91 2 door to brakes from a 94 4 door. I know that the rear drum setup is bigger, are the front rotors and calipers bigger also. One other thing that crossed my mind was the master cylinder. Is there a difference between mine and the 4 door one ???

I think the master is the same(mine looks smaller than my samurai one.) but the front rotors on my 4 door are vented and yes they are larger.

Rotors I got were the same size Dia.
but vented, so they were thicker

Rear brakes are wider, but same piston
size in the wheel cylinder (so I hear)

The front Calipers had a larger Dia. piston
and make my 89' on 33s stop better than
stock brakes with 235 tires

Very cool, thanks guys. I can pick all the parts up very cheap but wanted to verify first. Off I go shopping at my favorite store. ;D

The master cylinder can be different.
There are 2 types of master cylilnders on Suzukis from what I can tell, a short stubby one and a longer one.

Ours has the shortie and we have ABS.  Most of my buddies have the long ones and they don't have ABS, so maybe thats the difference (ABS).
