Title: Wheeling today...
Post by: Kreg on June 06, 2004, 02:12:23 PM
Went wheeling with a local club today and had a great time.

Heres some pics of my truck.  8)

Never got stuck once today. Just needed a little push here and there to get some traction. (Though I know I could have driven out of those obstacles if I took a few more runs at it  ;))

Mine are 31" BFG Mud terrains on 15x7" rims. They don't rub at all, even at full compression.

Photo shop is an amazing program young grass hopper.  ;)

I finally decided what paint scheme I'm going to do on my truck when I repaint it.   It's going to be Military olive green, and I'm going to airbrush that flag onto the hood.

I don't actually belong to that club. I usually wheel with another club, but I thought it would be cool to meet some more people. I'm not the youngest person in either club. I'm 22 and there are some 16 –18 year old kids who come out with us sometimes.

Not to be biased or anything, but I usually like wheeling with older people anyhow.

in the club i'm in evey once and a while a young kid will wheel with us once or twice but they never say long, and i can't stand talking to them(some people say i mutured(sp) too fast).  i guess i'm just missing out on my child hood to be a better fabacator(sp).  not like thats a bad thing or anything. ;D

Those are some cool pics... I'm really envious of Canada's landscape, now :(

When you paint your truck, are you painting the top, too, or is it staying black?

Looks like ya had fun.  ;D
The thing with most young people is the don't have the patients to go slow and learn just bomb through it.
My guess. ;D

Ya you, Mac, and Myself will have to schedule a run one-day.  I found a bunch of sweet Trails on Dumount today.  I figured out where that trail that Kyle got stuck leads. (The one we went down in the winter from Benson)   It comes to this log bridge, which was pretty cool, and then it leads up to Dumount and connects to that trail with the big water filled tank trap.

The guys I went wheeling with today were the Naniamo Sidewinders.  Good group of guys. Pretty easy going.

We entered in at Westgate and into Dumount.  Then we connected over to Mount Benson (where the photo was taken) then back over to Dumount on a different trail.  A very fun day, lots of cool trails.

Haha ya, I've learnt that lesson already.  I crawl through everything now. Can't afford the carnage the loud pedal causes.

I actually drove out of that ditch too.  It felt like I was gonna roll it, but the front evened out shortly after.

Great pics 8) Looks like an awesome trail :o What's with the red CV? Did you paint it or is that an aftermarket boot?

i think it may be aftermarket, i remember him saying that he ripped a cv boot so i think its just a new red one, maybe not tho. :-/ :)

Actually it was just a trail fix (red duct tape)

I never got around to replacing my torn boot this weekend, but I really wanted to go wheeling. I took one of those heavy-duty zip lock bags and cut it in half then I duct taped the plastic around the boot.  :P

Surprisingly it held up amazingly well.  I got home and the boot was dry and clean.  ;D
