Title: YJ leaf swap info needed..
Post by: Hyper on February 24, 2011, 07:12:22 PM
Ok fellas,

I've been trying to read up on swapping in the YJ springs in my Sami. After several search both here and on the web, I still don't feel like I have all the answers I need.

So far, everything keeps pointing me back to the JP Eater setup from Trail Tough. Is this the only setup to do this with, or are there other options I'm just not seeing.

Thanks for the help.

YJ swap can also be done with other vendors. Just off the top of my head I will name a few. Rocky Road Outfitters, Asian Auto Parts of Arizona has a shackle reversal, and Aftermarket 4x4 has a yj kit also.

Thanks flexmonger.
Typed up the post while at work... I actually did mean Rocky Road, not Trail Tough.

I appreciate the sites you mentioned, Aftermarket 4x4 seems to have the best pricing on the setup, so I'll probably go that route. I wasn't sure if anyone had been fabbing their own setups or not.

Hopefully I'll be able to get this rolling soon.. tired of bouncing so much!

I think one main difference between kits is that the Rocky Road JP Eater does not use a missing link setup, whereas most of the other pre-made kits do.

Something to keep in mind if you will be driving your rig on the road much.

Ah! Thanks for pointing that out.

I had read another member on the forums here that mentioned how he had to tighten up the links in order to gain some road manners; I'll be sure to look for that before buying as this is my dd.
