Once again I got to thinking. I was wondering if it is possible to remove the gears in the front differential and weld the spiders instead of putting in a locker If this is possible, i wouldnt want to run the front end locked all the time so if i have manual hubs and put them on, then i could lock just one tire allowing them to not want to skip or hop like locked axles do I am sick of getting stuck and having to be pulled out because one tire wont grab that should be getting some traction

Don't weld the front, do the rear or get a rear locker, that will get you most anyplace

While welding the front is certainly possible, don't do it unless you have driven a vehicle with the front locked. It become difficult to turn at all. I have a front air locker so I have it locked when necessary but can turn it off to steer. A constantly front locked vehicle would be ridiculous in my book.

X2, If you really need a locker up front, get one from Trail Tough, and a twin stick
from Stan (37kicker) you will really love it, 2WD low is great, and you still have locked
up front for the nasty stuff.
I did Moab last year in 2WD low about 95% of the time, and clicked in 4WD only when
I could not get through a rough spot
