Title: TRACKER 89 transfercase to 95

Just wondering if somone could spare some knowledge.

I searched and still haven't been able to confirm if a 89 tracker t case will work in a 95.

The 89 was 1.6 8v, 5 speed and the 95 is 1.6 16v , 5 speed.

I was told that the rear out spline may be different and was hoping someone could confirm it.

I believe the rear output spline is different. You would either need the driveshaft from the 89 or a t case from a 95 or newer Tracker

I think your safe until 99 'ish before the output spline change.

The driveshaft spline changed in 96 to 16 spline.  89-95 tcases have a 26 spline tcase output shaft.

Ok cool so an 89 case should work on the 95 trans then.
