Greetings:
I am working on a 5/87 Samurai. This project was started 4 years ago...2 where being built. 1 was finished, this one wasn't. It sat on a lift (my avatar) for 4 years. I have now been given the task of getting it together (it was mostly in boxes). Anyways.....I have never been in a running Sami and haven't gotten to the point of hooking the battery up yet. So......my dumbest noob question ever is......what color is the dash illumination? ??? White? Green? Orange?
Thanks and regards;
Tony

The dash light are usually so dim that it's really hard to tell, I think mine,
89 Kick, are a very light green, again, so dim it's hard to tell.

Every Suzuki I've owned or driven has had pale green dash illumination - the ones I've taken apart have had a green "condom" over the bulbs, so it can be changed.

My 87 dash lights are as Fordem commented. Only the heater control panel is different. It has a clear bulb with an orange "condom" on it.

It has to be pitch black out in order to even see 'em

Just guessing I would say that you have another problem. Can you tell if you can dim the instrument lights? It may be this switch or possibly a ground issue. (Leaning toward the latter...)

Green it is.
Thanks!

Mine sure did! Just before it caught on fire and melted! :o Ah, well. I needed to finish rewiring it from the mice/rats chewing everything up.
