So i found the original Suzuki Servicard" that came with my Samurai when i bought it new in 1987 in Riverside California. God i miss that car, it was my first car and was kinda forced to sell it....or rather forced to trade it in, in 1994 when i bought my new Tracker in Michigan.
anyway i took excellent care of the Sammy and being a California car it was in amazing shape, but when i went to get my new tracker i was forced by my parents...i was still pretty young then, to "give" my Sammy to the dealer as a trade.
it was worth $3000. they gave me $300 >:(
so anyway i had my tracker for about a month when i got a letter saying bring it in for an inspection for a possible re-called item.
as they inspected the tracker i strolled around their lot only to come to my old Samurai for sale on thier used lot
selling price?
$3000
BASTARDS!
i was so angry. well needless to say i NEVER went back to that dealer again. A year later i was on a date and while i sat at the light i thought i saw my old Samurai. I said "holy crap"! and turned around immediately.
It WAS my Sammy! sitting in the lot of a beat up old transmission shop in Detroit. I got out and ran over to it, it broke my heart, the interior was ripped to shreds, the back seat was gone, someone put a big red button in the dash for the horn, it had junky old seat from another car, my bigger off road tires, and chrome wheels were gone replaced by 4 different stock Suzuki steelies, the entire car was a total disaster. and seeing it like that both made me sad and totally angry. I was totally ready to go back the next day and demand they sell it back to me.
i never saw it again and last year i was in traffic and a big semi went by and on it's trailer were flatened junked cars, one was a white Samurai...not sure it was MY white Samurai but it made me wonder. I sure hope one of you guys found it and restored it, it was a good car. but anyway i found the origianl VIN, is it possible for me to trace where it is now either dead in a junk pile or happily being off roaded by a happy zuki fan?
I'd really like to know the outcome of my first Sammy.

Carfax? Wont it tell you where the last place it was registered was?
-
Yeah, Carfax might. Some states' DMVs can pull that information, too.

After I sold my Camaro I checked it a few years later via carfax and saw that it was totalled. So if your Sammy was junked it would probably say.

I'm not sure if they *still* give out that info in OR, but it used to be $5. I found out the hard way.
Due to the blind spot (before I learned)... and I cut over on a car hanging my quarter. About 10 days later, he banged on my door at home.

lol^ and that is the precise reason i think they stopped doing that in cali..people were being fallowed home with info from DMV
