Title: Trouble with left turn signal
Post by: All4adventure on March 18, 2011, 07:26:21 AM
Hello all, I am new to owning a Suzuki. I have recently purchased a 93' Suzuki Sidekick convertible, 2 door 4x4. Absolutely love it although I am having a problem with the left turn signal. I replaced the front and rear bulbs but it is still not working. Could it be a grounding issue or something else I am oblivious to. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Grounds are a common problem, but do you hear the flasher clicking?
might be that or a fuse also

Thanks for your quick response Wildgoody! I did check the fuse and it is all good. The flasher is clicking for my right hand turns but not my left. Do both sides run off the same flasher? If not, that could possibly be my problem.

Cheers,

Johnny

Johnny check the ground under the hood. It's a bolt w/10mm head, back wire. In the pic mine has other things grounded too.

I thought about the flasher statement after I left this morning  :-[

Do the fourways work on the left side? Turnsignals go through the fourway switch. If left side works on fourway it could be turnsignal switch. Aggressively turn your fourway switch on and off a few times to clean the contacts in the switch and see if that brings them around.

Once again thanks for all the feedback guys! When I put on the fourways I get nothing, one quick click and that's it. I tried cleaning the connection in the manner that Gearjam had recommended with no success. That bolt with the ground wire that DonD is talking about is fairly rusty, may try cleaning that up for good measure.

Cheers,

Johnny
