Hi all, I'm just about to order a lockright locker for my 92 Sidekick, question is Lowrangeoffroad sells a #1512 for $250 and TrailTough sells a #1510 for $210. Why the difference in part numbers? Is one better than the other?
Thanks,

check out lockrights site.
1510 and 1512 use the factory sidegears in the axle. (not good if oyu have higher mileage, as they are worn)
1530 and 1532 use aftermarket sidegears with the locker.
1510 and 1530 are 22 spline axleshafts
1530 and 1532 use 26 spline axleshafts

So I would need the 1512 as the rear of my 92 Sidekick is 26 spline. Aren't all sidekick rears 26 spline? If so why would TrailTough sell a 1510 for a Sidekick?

Richmond's website lists the 1510/1530 for the Samurai and the 1512/1532 for the SideKick.
It also lists the 1510/1512 as using the factory sidegears and 1530/1532 as being supplied with couplers, which are replacements for the factory sidegears.

It also lists the 1510 for the Samurai as being 26 spline on lockrights website. I got the following email from Brent at TrailTough:
""We do not offer the Lockright with side couplers. They are more expensive
and work less well. We use the 1510 Samurai locker in this application for
the smoothest and most reliable operaton. ""

This is just my opinion - or interpretation of what I see on the lockright webpage ...
The Samurai uses a 22 spline front & 26 spline rear - a 1510, since it uses the factory sidegears, will work both front & rear, since the spline count only matters if you are replacing those gears. This is a very simplistic point of view, because there are other things that need to be considered, but I assume that lockright has already taken those into consideration.
Next - if I understand the email from Brent, he seems to be saying that they sell the 1510 Samurai locker for use in the Sidekick - I was just telling you what the lockright page says, I bow to his experience,

Yeah, I'll got with Brent's recommendation also, was trying to figure out what I thought was a discrepency, but I think you are right, the spline count only matters when you are also purchasing the sidegears. Thanks for helping me get my head around this.
