Title: Problem with my RUF mod
Post by: MadMaxZuki on March 21, 2011, 12:41:55 PM
I did the RUF mod to my Samurai last spring. i did a 5 pack with the 4deg shim. The pack is consisted of the rear main, second front leaf, one of the rear helpers, and the last two front leafs. I cut the military wrap of the font leaf off due to the center pin. My problem is, that leaf is wearing into my main leaf very badly on both ends. i bought a parts car and i am rebuilding the pack, and i am going to keep the military wrap and have the whole re-drilled. my question is has anyone have those nylon )or what ever they are) spacers added to that leaf since that particular leaf doesnt have them. that way it wont be metal against metal. Any info is appreciated. i cant afford the YJ swap yet due to the fact that i already invested into the RUF, i am doing a drivetrain upgrade and redoing my modified body with money i shouldnt be spending LOL. Thanks again!

I have a Ruff up front with the nylon plug dividers. I am running the stock sami rear springs with the over load spring removed and the bottom two leaves from a stock sami front added. Rear springs are 2" Calamini. Tires are 30"x9.5"x15".

I just a stock set of rear springs with the overload removed and a second 'second' spring from the original rear spring pack, so basically two long springs.  Works great.
