Title: 89' Sidekick won't stay at 2500 rpm
Post by: FWD on March 21, 2011, 04:14:03 PM
Just bought a '89 Sidekick. It runs great but between 2500 and 3000 rpm it seems to die  out for a second and then comes back, making for a very jerky ride in low gear. I'm thinking fuel or a sensor. Talked to mechanic buddy and he had a sidekick in for the same problem and after going through the fuel system with no success pulled the distributor to check for wear, it checked out fine so reinstalled. He doesn't know what he did but the problem seams to have gone away. ???
Anybody have any ideas?

I have an off idle flat spot that is TPS related, you might check
that for proper operation
