Title: Project fabrication Sammy with Toy axles and Chevy s10 engine
Post by: joecools on April 08, 2011, 09:00:55 AM
This is my plans for 2011 Summer project:
1988 Suzuki samurai stock
1970 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser Install front and rear axles
1991 Chevy s10 Install engine, 2.8L V6

Install 2 to 4" lift, spring over, not certain who's lift I should use?

Unknown:
Transmission, Automatic or stick?
Have never done this, no time frame, other than would like to start this summer.

Usage: Daily driver and part time 4 wheeler.
I have photos from the internet of what looks like this type of conversion. I own all of these vehicles, just need a source to commission someone to do the work locally to me. I am in Alvarado, Texas.
I am looking for suggestions/Idea and any feedback.
Thanks
/Joe

Why a 2.8? Why not just use a 4.3.

Maybe because he allready has it? ^^^  I am switching out my 1.6 for a (ugh) GM 2.8 to set the stage for the 3400 from a late model Camero. Might be what he is planning on, later down the road... Oh, for what it is worth, the GM 2.8 V6 and the other 60* V6s' share the bellhousing pattern with the Jeep 2.5 4cyl engine. Opens up ALOT of options for transmissions. Think about and then research those possibilities, joecools.   ???  8)  >:D
