My 87 Sammy has a regular Speedo- Cable running from the transfer case to the dash panel (Mech. Drive)
My dash has the Tach/Speedo. Also the round air vent style dash.

What there saying is. The motor swap should have nothing to do with the speedometer. Should work exactly the same as it did with the original motor. May have been put togeather incorrect after the swap or as the other posts indicated.

A 94 Swift is also a mechanical speedo.
