Title: Got my bumper all finished and bedlined...
Post by: explosivo on June 01, 2004, 03:10:25 PM
Over the past few days, I went to the junkyard and nabbed myself some 2" pipe, bent it to shape, and welded it up. I have it almost done, I think, but I might add a little more to it. The notch in the center is some space for a winch, once I get one.

All done with the metalwork:

Bedlined:

Since I had the bedliner out, I decided to do the rear bumper too:

I still have to weld on some light tabs (and get some lights :p) and get a winch mounted on there and it'll be all done :)

Total project cost:
Welding rod: ~$2
Metal: Free
Bedliner: ~$5 (had it laying around)
Labor: Quite a bit

That looks pretty good. I like the bedliner idea, I might use that on mine once it's all finished up. I'm glad to see you curved it, it looks a lot better than a straight-across flat bumper does, in my opinion.

Are you going to put a winch plate inside the hoop? Did you order that winch yet ;)

Yep, as soon as I order it, I'm going to fab up a mount for the winch beneath/behind the grille, the hoop should offer some extra protection :)
