Is this a hard install? (going into '89 JA71 Jimny) Is there a mount kit for it, or do they fit into Sami's? (other then wiring) any info would be appreciated.
Also, anyone have any ideas for quick fender flares? I ordered the Bushwackers from rocky-road, but they take forever. I already have one ticket for my tires sticking out. I just need something that would work until they get here. Any ideas?

I hear the distributor sticks out
the back of the engine too far, and
the 1.3 GT is a different block than
the 1.3 Sammy motor. but it has been
done if I remember right.
Good Luck

Wow, you got a ticket for your tires sticking out?  I  see a lot of people over here running with their tires sticking out,  but I heard that its a big fine if you do get caught. :'(
I ordered a length of the cheap rubber stuff from JC Whitney for like $30 and it got here pretty quick.

The 1.3 DOHC engine will bolt directly to the Samurai transmission and use all the same motor mounts. The outside dimensions of the block are the same as 1.3 8-valve.
Brent w/Trail Tough did this swap back when with Rick at Hawk Strictly Suzuki. It was covered at Truckworld...

Somer, it was going into base they caught me for it. People always run here with them sticking out too. Maybe the cop just needed a pat on the back or something.
Thanks for the info and link Eb. Only thing is, it doesn't say what the mod was on the firewall.
Looks like its time to check out some junkyards.  ;D

Brent built in a 'slot' for the distributor to clear the fire wall. It was probably 4" deep and required some modifications up under the dash as well for fitment of the heater box and what not. I believe that a less dramatic approach, smaller pocket, can be taken when coupled with using a shorter distributor cap.

Just found this link if anyone else is interested. Has some info on the 1.3 DOHC and a Datsun motor.
