Hi i have a 2.0 td 2004 grand vitara when being restarted after a run it is hard to turn over(when the engine is warm) when it is cold it is ok

Maybe the starter is going bad and when it gets hot "heat soaked" it can't turn the engine over... Does the exhaust run next to the starter? I'd love to see some pictures of the diesel in the Vitara... We don't have them here.
