Title: Crank no start
Post by: Chattinfarms on April 27, 2011, 05:02:03 AM
So my 92 tracker won't start unless I feed it gas. Guy that I bought it off of said it was the fuel pressure regulator. There is fuel coming out of the reg.  But the injector doesn't seem like it's spraying. If I loosen up the injector cap fuel comes out so I'm figuring I have fuel pressure from pump. Can you guys give me any help on this. Thanks

A bad ECM will not fire the injector.  So even though you have pressure up to the injector, if the injector is never firing, you won't get any fuel into the engine.
If you can find a known good ECM to swap in, I would look at that first.

Will all 1.6 ECM change out or do you have to have one for a tracker

It has to be for a tracker or sidekick and either an 8V or 16V (same as whatever engine you have (guessing you have an 8V)).
The loose rule is that 89-90s will interchange....91-93s will interchange...94-95s will interchange.  The ideal ECM will have the same 33920-xxxxx number as yours.

Does anyone have a ECM for sale. Put a test light on the injector wires and had no flash. Is there a ECM fuse somewhere that I'm missing. I found the injector I think fuse and it was good. Thanks

Nice find.  Was the bad cap on the ECM?

Bad cap was on the ECM up by the heat sink. Haven't had a chance to put it in and see if it works yet. Keeping my fingers crossed til tonite when I get off work
