NOOB here. The wife decided she wanted a Tracker while in Mexico for the winter. Found a really nice 2000 in Denver. Having had a Scout II for 30 years, my first concern was getting a decent ride. The suggestions on the board were: 1 Tires at stock pressure 2 OME struts and shocks, Corbeau Baja seats.
Tires were shot, got BFG 215/70/15 at stock pressure a much better ride.
Seats, The interior is really good, but the stock seats are so hard that they are like a perch. I found the local hot rod interior guy and he thought it looked like a fun project. He pulled the stock wire seat suspension system and made new one ones using a combination of springs and a vinyl pad and added some softer foam on top. Wonderful improvement and about $100 vs the $750 for Corbeau seats.
Holding off on the OME for now although undoubtedly the stock struts and shocks are bad due to the $500 cost.
Next step is to change all drivetrain lubricants to Redline. And change the coolant.

couple bits of advise:
put your progress in the build diary's section. and dont use redline. overpriced and under performs. take a peek at this study.

Will do, thanks. Only using Redline gear oils . Redline and Swepco are the most recommenced gearbox oil in cars like my old Porsche. Hadn't though about motor oils yet, interesting.
