I'm running a 92 kick with a sammy diff, lincoln locked front and back on 31 LTBs. It's a 3 spd auto with 5.12s in the diffs. It has a lack of power and I don't think its the engine because under normal driving (road and light trails) its fine but as soon as the mud gets deep or the rocks get deep, it doesn't perform well. It won't spin, it will bog and hard to get it over 4000rpm. I was thinking I need 4.24s in the tcase but before the $1000 investment I want to be sure that will fix my problem. Any comments will be appreciated.

is it safe to assume you are using low range? and to make a long story short....YES 4.24's will help. now or the obvious. with a little anemic 1.6 and probably with a ton of miles on the clock, spinning all four of the most aggressive and heaviest tires in the land, I can see how performance might not blow your mind.
is your rig?.....properly tuned-up and running well? same Q: for transmission. I would start thinking about under-hood power.(squirrel steroids) too. what did you mean by "Sammy diff" are you sas'd? for now, get them gears and mix 3 gallons of 110 octane in with a full tank of premium and go wheel!
