I had to remove the timing belt on my 87 samurai to change the H2O pump, now it won't run!! I didn't think i moved the crank or cam pulley so i figured i should just be able to put the belt back on and roll with it ..... no such luck. Would some of you gurus please chime in with what i need to do to try and remedy this?
Are there marks on the sprockets that need to be lined up in a certain way? Please help me out fellas!!
Thanks, ???

Yep, crank mark up, cam mark down and distributor at 5 o'clock
firing #1, the real drag is you have to pull the front apart again
This is the factory setting for the 1.6 8V engine, I think it's the
same for the 1.3 but it's been a while since I've done one

1.3L
crank sprocket mark up(mark on oil pump).
cam mark "up"- lines up with notch on the inside timing belt cover. slightly off of straight up.
no slack on drive side of belt.
