Well guys I hate to say it but im deciding to sell my samurai to put a down payment on a new Jetta TDI I just want something better for the streets and have to many projects as it is between school the samurai and my mustang. ya don't have to buy brandy new do ya? I find good used tdi rigs around here for under 6k. Skip the 20k debt load pay cash for a good used tdi and make those same payments to yourself in a money market account and have a million dollars in 30 years. Food for thought. Don't make those automakers and dealers rich. Make yourself wealthy.

Very sage advice jluck! I've made quite a few car salesmen and dealers some serious money over the years. I've owned more vehicles than I will admit here on the forum. Some new, many used, but the point is I could have done without 20 or so of them (easily) and been better off now for not having bought them. The difference in a Porsche Boxster and a used Ford Focus (or fill in the blank) may appear huge... but I don't know of any police force in any towns or cities that look the other way when you are top ending it on a straight away or screaming through curvy sections of the road. Prestige is over rated. As long as you realize you are making the purchase for a specific reason and can pay cash up front... oh well. So the difference really boils down to the money. The used Focus costs FAR less up front, gets better mileage, repairs (when they occur) are far cheaper and you end up with a hell of a lot more disposable income for other things... like saving, or investing or just pissing away on another project... if you happen to have the Suzuki "bug". Hell, you could park the truck, buy used, have far less debt load and STILL own your Suzuki... which appears to be a great little truck!

Yeah I agree with you guys! Im not gonna jump into anything right away... just gonna save as much as I can and see what is best. Just having the samurai and my mustang won't cut it I have to do one or the other and I've had my mustang since I was 17 so I will never part with it.
