so driving home from work 2 nights ago my samurai started making a clicking sound very loud only in 3rd 4th and 5th gears when under power coasting no click i thought it was the rear end just took it all apart looks good no broken teeth like last time i had a noise similar to the noise i have now i hope it not the t-case
its a 87 samurai 1.6 16v 6.5 case stock axle gears 32"bfg mt's and lock rite in the rear trans rebuilt in the last year t-case 2 years ago

Could be trans bearings or u joints

lost 2 teeth off my 6.5 gear set

Ouch. How did the bearings look? Do you remember which set of 6.5 gears you had?

the 6.5 set is trail gear so the new set is free bearing look good no silver shimmer to the oil not sure why to 2 teeth broke off

At least they stand behind the warranty. Did they break off completely or did just a chunk of the gear break off?
