I see that the 06+ GV is rated to tow up to 3000 pounds. What I'd want to tow is a trailer with 2 ATV's on it. Has anyone here used their GV for towing? How does it do in terms of power and gas mileage when towing? Is only the V6 model rated for towing more than 1000 pounds?

My 2010 with the 4cyl is rated at 3000lbs also. Seems quite comfortable with towing but I haven't pulled anything really heavy yet. Going to pull my tent trailer through the local hills soon to see how it does, it's almost 2000lbs

Thanks, please report back with how it does. I'd love a four cylinder for gas mileage but still would want towing capability. How does your 4 cylinder do around town for gas mileage?

Depends if the wife is driving or me >:D. With her driving it gets a solid 25mpg around town. The 4 cyl has tons of power compared to the 01 I had. I personally can't see a need for the V6.

Maybe 1 or 2mpg less but I hardly drive it

That is great. Yesterday I weighed my trailer and quads and they only came to 1660 pounds so a GV should handle it no problem.

Hi all,
Can someone look in thier manual for the GV and check the limits on towing speed for me? I read an owners manual online and it suggested not exceeding 45mph when towing with the GV. That seems rediculously low to me and I seriously doubt that anyone would tow on the interstate at 45mph.

Hello i got a 2007 with the V6 2.7 and i tow occasionally 1000 to 2000 lbs on a single axel trailer ''stove wood'' and there is no problem even at 100 KM/H but if your trans shift to frequently just drop it on 4TH gear (push the shifter to the right ) and it will drink fuel but you'll have plenty of power .dont be worry about the 3500-4000 rpm those engine are made for that .

Sorry for taking so long to get some real info on towing but here is what I found on a recent trip.
I drove over 2500 km towing my 2000 lb tent trailer from Nanaimo BC over the Rockies to east of Red Deer Alberta and home again with my 2010 GV with 2.4L auto. I set the cruise at 100 kmh and had no issue with power at all even through the mountain passes and had an average mileage of 21.5 mpg over the entire trip. Driver fatigue was minimal even after a 12 hour day. This car pulls with ease and does it while keeping the occupants nice and comfy. I really don't see a need for a V6 after this trip unless you just can't live without one. All in all I am VERY impressed with this vehicle and it's abilities.

I picked up our 2011GV limited 4x4 just last weekend. Things are good so far. The power of the 2.3 really seems lacking on the hwy. It seems to cruise comfortably at 75-85mph, but getting there is hard and hills take thier toll. I will give towing a try and see how it goes.
Do any of you have a picture of the OEM hitch mounted? I want to see if it mounts behind the rear valance/bumper or if it hangs down like the current offereings from Reese, Curt, Hidden hitch, Drawtite...
If any of you know which manufacturer makes the OEM hitch, I sure would like to know that too.
