OK guys new to the forum......need advice on some things. First I am a jeep guy so I don't know allot about these 4x4s. What we have is a 88 samurai soa, kinda beat but was allot of fun. It has a blown head gasket, but other than that good. We also have a 94 tracker 16v 1.6L in allot better shape but stock as in no lift etc. The tracker has bad clutch.
The question is take the engine and power steering etc. out of the tracker and install them in the samurai? Or is it better to mod the tracker for off road, solid front axle etc. What would be better / easier so on?

That's a loaded question, and the answer is really personal preference
and your skill level for fabrication, as well as budget
Also you need to keep in mind what the desired use is going to be.
More info is needed to give you an opinion

how bad is the samurai do you need the extra room of the 4 door????
-
The tracker is a two door so no extra room.
And the truck would be a trail only rig so the samurai would be fine. I did not know how the front ends hold up on the trackers, or how easy they are to lift . i guess I need to do allot more reading.
Hey fordguy79..I see you put the 1.6L 16v engine in your 87 sami. Did you use a kit for the wire harness or do it yourself? The only one I have seen was 299.00 and is a little steep. Any help here would be great.

Puttin the 1.6 and power steering in the Sami would be really good for a trail rig. Then you might wanna consider doing a spring over with YJ springs to run a taller tire.

i got a kit but if i do it again i will wire it my self there is a good write up done on here by warbird i have a spare harness all sorted out ready to combine with a samurai harness
