Title: whats causing my 88.5 samurai to shut down?
Post by: samwhygy on May 21, 2011, 01:19:41 PM
after running fine for weeks at a time my sammy will just stop running. It will turn over and so far in about 5 or 10 minutes it will restart. I've already replaced the fuel filter and put gas treatment in. Any suggestions?

Try replacing the Ignition Module in the distributor

Make sure there is gas in the carb and you are not vapor locked, then check the spark
if there is gas squirting from the accel pump and it's not starting the ignition is the fault,
otherwise if the spark is there and it's not starting there is a vapor lock and no gas in the
carb so you need to re-route and insulate the fuel line and maybe replace the fuel pump
if it is weak
