Title: Weird fuel problem in 90 Kick 8 valve 4 spd
Post by: backtracker on May 23, 2011, 03:37:22 PM
I go to start it in the morning and sometimes it  turns over without starting. I try again and it fires up , after it is a bit warm, I don't seem to have any starting problems. I  recently had the filter changed and it is still doing the same thing. I was told by my mechanic that this is the first signs of a failing fuel pump.
I checked the codes in the port under the hood, it is code 12, so it is a fuel issue, anyone have any ideas??

Have you done a fuel pressure test?

Have you done a fuel pressure test?

The shop where I took it to said it 's not a fuel pressure problem if it's running?
I started it this morning and it ran but it bucked around for a couple of seconds and now it's running smooth???
Very weird symptoms, it almost jumps around like there is a broken motor mount before it starts?

Have you checked the timing?
